If you're looking for a loyal, active dog who will tear up your tennis balls and be your shadow, Spider may be the dog for you. Spider is a wonderful boy, however after a few months of getting to know him I've learned my pack isn't the right fit for him. I adopted him earlier this year from some clients at a doggy daycare I was a trainer at and in the beginning he fit in like a glove alongside my 2 dobermans, 10lb shih tzu mix and pitbull mix. But as time went on, he decided he didn't like the two dobies and would randomly attack them with zero warning (this is coming from a dog trainer). He is absolutely fine with the pitbull and 10lb dog. And like I previously said, he belonged to some clients from the daycare so he did fine in the play area until I adopted him and he started going to daycare on a regular basis and went after other dogs there. Spider NEEDS to go to someone who is an experienced dog owner and understands his needs. He will need to be an only dog in his new home. He walks SO well on leash - even just on his regular collar. I live in a somewhat busy neighborhood though and he is reactive towards other dogs and people on our walks. His previous owners had said he hadn't been around many kids. I had him greet a 6-year-old on one occasion and it went well but this was before we began having reactivity issues. He's great in the car, we went on a trip to Virginia this summer and he was an angel for the 7 hour roadtrip. He's very food and toy motivated.

My sweet Spider may be high maintenance for the average dog lover but he's beyond worth it. I would never dream of rehoming a dog. In fact, I've put this off for months conflict and attempts to come to some sort of resolution but it's making everyone in the house unhappy, including him and honestly he deserves better. Ideally I'd like him to go someone who's active and can run/bike/hike with him while understanding that he's not quite so much a people dog. He deserves to find the right fit and frankly it's not fair to him to stay with me and my other pups if there's someone out there who can give that to him.
